Oooh the excitement!!

What an exciting weekend ... I have my first blogland follower!!  Thank you Wendy for taking the time to read my ramblings, and for your lovely comments!

::  And the excitement continues  ::
I had my first taster of selling my crafty bits and bobs to the good people of Northampton.  I had a stall at a theatre group production on Friday night. It was a show of songs from musicals, performed by kids between the ages of about 5 and 16.  It was all in aid of the charity Sands.

Here are some pics of my stall
:: not great cos I only had my phone with me ... and the usual "poor light" excuse which affects the majority of my appalling photography ::

I was the only stall there (apart from the chap selling teas and coffees!) and I don't think people came expecting to have something to spend money on.  But I sold a few bits and bobs, and have an order for some lavender scented hearts which all together made it a worthwhile evening out.

So I'm now on the lookout for other opportunities to sell my wares!

One such opportunity is folksy.com. I've bought from there a few times, and now have opened my own little shop ... which, in the third exciting thing to happen this weekend, someone has already added as a 'favourite'!

:: How popular do I feel?!?!  A blogland follower and I'm someones 'favourite' shop ... Fab! ::

There's a link to my shop, Dizzy Izzy, in the side bar (look right and most likely up!!)

The name ...?  Thought of by Little Mac, real name Izzy, while she was spinning herself round trying to make herself dizzy.  "That'll do", I thought!

My favourite things in my shop at the mo are Dot and Ethel, my stuffy cats.  They have no practical application whatsoever, but look quite cute sitting on my desk waiting for their new home!

::  Meet Dot ::

I've also been busy making brooches.  I love making brooches for the more or less instant gratification of finishing something!  If a project takes too long I tend to loose interest and it never gets finished.

:: Here's one ... and I have lots more to list in the shop soon ::

So that's it ... my weekend of excitement.  Slowly ebbing away at the thought of work tomorrow ........

:: woo-hoo :: I Can Patch!

My first attempt at patchworking has been a complete success thanks to some genius tips from Alicia at Posie Gets Cozy, via Hen at HenHouse.  Thanks!!

Splish Splash Splosh

It's been raining today. And raining and raining and raining. Very wet. And windy. So at 9 this morning, we waterproofed-up and went for a walk.   Inspite of, or maybe because of, the weather we had a wonderful time.  We had the whole park virtually to ourselves, which meant Daft Dog, who usually can't be trusted off his lead with other dogs around, could have a good run.  And the puddles ... ooh the puddles ... the muddier the better for Little Mac.  There is something very wonderful about jumping in puddles.  Fab!  After a couple of hours we dripped our way back home and dried off.

We spent the rest of the day lazing around the house, watching the last F1 race of the year (fantastic last few laps!) and munching on left over trick or treat treats.

Being entirely unable to just sit down and watch the telly, I spent the race knitting ...

:: Some wrist warmers for a birthday pressie ....

:: Here's some I made earlier ...

These one were for Little Mac ... she loves them.  Mmmm, nice and cosy.  The world seems to be going mad for wrist warmers.  Everyone is making them, the best I've seen are at HenHouse and Attic24 ... go and take a look. I've also made some for myself too.  I'll post a photo at some point.  In my opinion wrist warmers are the 21st Century leg warmers!

:: What's in the sock? ::

:: Ooh look ... ::

Why didn't I guess ... 6 Weebles and all the player tokens, dice and a hotel from Monopoly.

I found the sock hidden underneath the beanbag in the living room.  I think Little Mac had been tidying up, in her own way!
