How to join the Folksy Friday Blog Hop

If you need a hand joining the Folksy Friday blog hop, read on ....
(if the screen pics are a bit small, click on them to view a bigger version)

First of all you need to write and publish your Folksy Friday blog post.

View your post, and copy its URL from the address bar at the top of the screen.

You can join the blog hop from any participating blog which has posted the links already.  Click here to join on my 21st May 2010 post.

Click on 'Click here to enter' and the following page will open.

In the Link Title box enter the text that people will see on the list of links, for example the name of your blog and/or name of your Folksy Friday post.
In the link box, paste the URL of your post which you copied earlier.
Then click 'Enter your link' and you will see this page.

If you then click to return to the blog hosting the list you will be able to check that your link has worked.

You should now be able to spot your link on the list ... to double check it works, just click on it.
(have you spotted that the blog hop can't count? - lol!)

If you've had quite enough techy stuff for one day, you might want to stop there - you're on the list!

However, if you fancy it you can also add the link list to your own blog, meaning people can visit the links, and join the blog hop from your blog too.  To get started click 'Get the code here...'.  The following screen will appear.

Copy the code in the box near the top of the screen.  You now need to go back to your Folksy Friday blog post and edit it. If you view your post in Blogger (make sure you are logged in), you will see a little brown pencil icon at the bottom of the post.  Click on this to open the Edit post screen.

Click on the 'Edit HTML' tab, scroll right to the bottom and paste in the linky code, then click 'Publish Post'.

When you view your blog you will see that the links now appear on your post too.

Easy peasy?
